AIM North America Supplier Alliance

The UID Supplier Alliance (USA) Committee includes many of the leading providers of UID and other automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) solutions.

It was founded in November 2007 by AIM North America, which represents the AIDC industry.

AIM has been instrumental in helping the military and organisations in manufacturing, aerospace, logistics and other industries learn about AIDC technologies. It has also helped develop and standardise many of the technologies used today, including the Data Matrix bar code symbology at the heart of the UID program.

AIM UK

AIM UK represents the automatic identification, data capture and mobility industries.

Our members are the providers and users of the technologies, systems and services that capture, manage and integrate accurate data into larger information management systems.

As a not-for-profit industry organisation, AIM’s mission is to stimulate the understanding, adoption and use of AIDC technology by providing timely, unbiased and non-commercial news and information.

Defence Equipment and Support

Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) equips and supports the UK’s armed forces for current and future operations.

Employing approximately 25,500 people, with a budget of £13 billion, its Headquarters are located in Bristol with other sites located across the UK and overseas.

DE&S acquires and supports through-life, equipment and services ranging from ships, aircraft, vehicles and weapons, to information systems and satellite communications. As well as sustaining ongoing requirements including food, clothing, medical supplies and temporary accommodation, DE&S is also responsible for HM Naval Bases, the joint supply chain and British Forces Post Office (BFPO). 

DE&S works closely with industry through partnering agreements and private finance initiatives in accordance with the Defence Industrial Strategy (DIS) to seek and deliver effective solutions for defence.
